I gave myself a challenge to complete one track per week and soon I had it all together. The pack came together quickly to be honest. I made this pack to provide a bigger set of tracks for all moments in a game, both the intense combat moments but also the more emotional tracks.

I have seen Project Zelda in previous posts, but I have not seen anything that could work as a download. Honestly, I felt like they only existed in big AAA games but it was hard to find it for smaller developers with fewer resources. I have recently embarked upon trying to create a legend of zelda style game using RPG Maker VX Ace, but I cant find a script that will allow for a lot of what is necessary for the LoZ experience. I love big sounds and the way they can absolutely fill up your ears.

‍ What about the full pack it comes from, Tyler Cline's Cinematic Fantasy Music Pack, how did that come together? I chose this track because I felt like it gave a lot of opportunity for some great moments in cutscenes and trailers and would give a lot of energy to whatever it accompanied. I fell in love with that book and it served to inspire the sound of the track as well. The name was inspired by the book “The Name of the Wind” by Patrick Rothfuss.

Here is the same example tileset I used to make it MV compatible. I did not create the art seen here, only edi. This way, we managed to increase the scale without losing any quality. This is a re-sizing and re-coloring of many different RPG Maker XP and VX tilesets for use with RPG Maker VXAce. Since this resolution was bigger than we needed, we used GIMP editor to scale it from 100% to 75% to get the exact MV resolution. We first used upscaling technique generated by Deep Convolutional Neural Networks algortihm in waifu2x website and doubled the resolution of our image. It would make the image low quality and blurry. We needed to increase the resolution of the tileset according to this percentage but we couldn't simply stretch it by changing its size in an image editor such as GIMP or Photoshop. This number is 50% higher in MV which is 48x48. RPG Maker VX Ace is using tile size as 32x32 pixels. Now we can use it to create our game in MV properly. Aaand that's it! We have successfully transformed RPG Maker VX Ace asset to MV.
